WOODFORD COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Woodford County High School officials are investigating a racist incident that took place after the girls basketball game on Friday, according to the school.

The school put out a post on Facebook on Saturday, writing, "we are deeply saddened and concerned by an unfortunate incident that occurred Friday evening in our district."

The post goes onto say that a racial slur was found written in the moisture on a window of the car belonging to the head basketball coach, who's also a teacher at the school.

The school writes, "it is our highest priority to ensure the safety and security of our staff and students, which includes maintaining a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere."

According to the post, an investigation is underway and officials are reviewing security camera footage.

School officials plan to take action once the person who's responsible is identified.

Anyone who might know who was involved in this incident is asked to contact WCHS administrative staff.
