LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — For more than a month now, restaurants and bars in Kentucky have had to close their doors. It's been a trying time for these businesses, which are all about socializing.

Oscar Diggs in downtown Lexington is known for bourbon and specialty burgers. The North Limestone restaurant has been serving customers since January of 2018. The last month has proven challenging, yet rewarding.

“It’s definitely been a change of pace, but it’s also been nice to see the community come out and continue to support us," said manager Zac Wright.

People are coming out to their walk-up window to pick up food. Wright says they're offering curbside as well. You can call in an order or use one of the delivery apps. Wright says the day Oscar Diggs had to close to customers, they set up a tent outside and started the pick-up window.

"Making sure people know that you can still come up and have some type of interaction even though it will be contactless," Wright says.

Oscar Diggs has been preparing weekend specials and doing food and movie pairings.

“Next week we have a Kevin Bacon burger with bacon four ways paired with (the movie) Tremors.”

They're aiming to maintain some of the fun for people, even though they can't step inside.

“When people come down here, they enjoy the food and the atmosphere, and we’re trying to send a little of that home with them," says Wright.
