Summer weather continues this week with afternoon highs regularly reaching the low to mid-80s. The stagnant heat ridge setup is breaking down and as it does, better chances for stormy weather will reach into the Ohio River Valley. As for now, we’re mostly sunny and hot. The radar is clear, and the humidity is up.

Thanks to abundant heating and humidity, the necessary ingredients will be in place for more active weather. Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will be more prevalent starting Wednesday and a series of fronts will keep activity going into the end of the week. Temperatures will cool as we approach Friday thanks to a wind shift. Still, we only cool to “normal” which is in the upper 70s. The better deal will be the more comfortable feeling in the air as the humidity gets cur going into the weekend. Temperatures will hover around the upper 70s and low 80s through the weekend. Rain chances taper briefly into Saturday but return again for Sunday.
