The weather has certainly kept us all on our toes for the past week and a half, but today's sunshine gave us a much-deserved break from winter weather. We will see even more melting coming up tomorrow as the winter thaw begins. That doesn't mean more winter weather won't return in the coming weeks, but at least we'll see a nice break from the action for a week or so. For tonight, we stay cold, lows in the upper teens, but we will start with some sun in the morning and a warm front will roll into Kentucky which will send our high temperatures into the 40s! Sunday will be the first day in 11 that we will be above freezing.
A weak low pressure will begin to drape across the state Sunday night into Monday morning and the expected precipitation type is all rain. Expect a pretty wet start to the new work week, but the rain will wrap up quickly leaving us with a couple of very nice days with more sun. Tuesday and Wednesday look to be terrific with highs into the 50s! There is only a small chance for frozen precipitation mixing with rain later on in the work week.
