Don't let Thursday's sunshine and above average highs in the 50s fool you, it's still January! Winter will make a comeback this weekend with much colder air and active weather on the move. Friday will see a dry afternoon break after early morning rain with chillier highs in the 40s. A Great Lakes low will pull colder air across the Commonwealth and we'll see rain to snow showers developing overnight into Saturday morning. With lows around and slightly below freezing slick spots will be possible on the roads but the best chance for minor/light accumulation (a few tenths to 1") will stay on the grass and elevated surfaces. A winter weather advisory is in effect Friday evening through early Saturday afternoon from Lexington southwest toward I-65. We'll see mostly cloudy skies with on an off rain/snow showers, sprinkles/flurries the rest of the weekend with highs mired in the 30s.
