We're stuck in a soggy and active rut heading into the weekend. Friday will see a few lingering morning showers and storms followed by more widespread coverage later in the afternoon and overnight. The flash flood watch has been extended until Saturday morning. Areas that saw heavy rain Thursday will be prone to a rapid onset of dangerous flash flooding from torrential rain. Low pressure passes overhead Saturday giving us a double threat- more heavy rain with the chance for a few strong to severe storms. Sunday will see the pattern simmering down with the low passing into the Great Lakes. A cold front will spark a late weekend round of scattered showers and storms but the heavy rain threat will diminish.
