A Tornado Watch is in effect until 8:00 edt (7:00 cdt) for Taylor, Russell and Adair counties. The remnants of Hurricane Laura are beginning to arrive and thunderstorms that develop can produce brief spin up tornadoes. Conditions can change quickly, so remain Weather Aware this afternoon and tonight.
We're also looking at storms that can produce torrential tropical downpours, so brief flooding may also become an issue through tonight. Winds may gust to 50 mph or more in and around the storms that do develop.
