Here comes a substantial round of cold January rain! A warm front will lift north Monday pushing widespread rain with a brief mix possible across northern counties as it starts. A winter weather advisory is in effect for our far northern tier of counties. Light freezing rain/mixed precipitation could lead to slick travel conditions. Later in the day it will become more scattered with rumbles of thunder from late afternoon into the evening. There is a chance for a few strong to severe storms (wind & hail) but mainly over western Kentucky. Our primary concern is locally heavy rain that could lead to standing water on the roads with a range of 1" to 2.5"+ through Tuesday morning. Minor flooding is possible but with as dry as it's been lately we should be able to handle it. Expect highs in the 40s Monday and 50s Tuesday but trending colder later in the week.
