What a nice break we had today from the wild winter weather we've experienced over the past couple of weeks. Plenty of thawing has begun and will only continue over the next several days as we are not expecting to dip below freezing during the daytime all this week. We are watching a weak system begin to move in even now which will bring some rain to us overnight. Expect several scattered showers through the night and pushing into eastern KY by dawn Monday. Everything will stay liquid in Kentucky and rain totals will be around a quarter of an inch give or take a tenth or so. Flooding is not anticipated in our area, but grounds, roads and parking lots will be wet and soggy for a few days as the snow/ice continues to melt.
What a difference a week can make in the weather! High temperatures this week will range from the low 40s to the mid 50s with sunshine expected Tuesday and Wednesday especially. Only a couple more chances for precipitation exist in the 8 day forecast and they are mostly rain showers late in the week toward the weekend.
