Rain on the Way

A cold front will bring showers Sunday

After a few dry days, things are changing in the weather world. A cold front is on it's way and we can expect rain for most of our Sunday. Tonight, things stay pretty quiet with only some light showers or drizzle nearby especially northern KY. As we move into Sunday, the cold front will sweep from west to east and that is the way the rain will move as well. Western KY is looking at rain from about 7 to 11 am, then central KY from 10 am to 2 pm. Eastern KY will likely see the rain showers from 1 pm to the evening.

This won't be a washout, but spots within this line could see some brief moderate showers falling. Totals only look to be between a quarter of an inch up to half an inch at most in some isolated spots. The wind should also pick up as the front moves through. Gusts may exceed 30 mph, but most of the weather models are calling for winds between 10 and 20 mph. Overall, this won't be a big event, but keep the umbrella around if you plan to be out through the day Sunday. We will dry out again for Monday before our next system rolls in midweek.
