Brace for a significant and hazardous winter storm Monday into Tuesday. After a morning round of light but accumulating sleet and snow we'll see a break in the action later in the morning. The main wave fires up Monday afternoon with maximum impact around the evening commute into the evening. With cold air at the surface but layer of milder air aloft we'll see everything from heavy snow west to mixed sleet, snow and ice in the Bluegrass over to an ice storm southeast. Travel will become increasingly difficult, if not impossible as conditions deteriorate through the day and overnight. A winter storm warning is in effect for central and northern Kentucky with an ice storm warning southeast. After this system winds down Tuesday yet another storm potentially significant winter storm will impact the Ohio Valley Wednesday night into Thursday.
