Enjoy the calm before what's left of a hurricane hits this weekend. We'll end up partly sunny and muggy with highs in the upper 80s and a few showers and storms around Thursday. The remnants of Laura will blow through Friday night into early Saturday morning with two potential wind related threats... brief, spin-up tornadoes and gusts from 40 to over 50 mph. The highest threat is over southern counties and across the border into Tennessee. We're still in that 1" to 3" rainfall range over the next three days. Localized flash flooding is possible this weekend but we should be able to handle most of it.
