Storm chances ramp up but elevated heat and humidity will see a slight dip this weekend. Thursday will be more of the same, highs in the upper 80s to low 90s, the heat index well into the 90s and a few afternoon/evening showers and t-showers that will crank out heavy rain. A heat advisory is in effect for northern counties where heat index values will reach triple digits. A weekend cool front will push a more widespread round of showers and storms our way Friday into Friday night with a few lingering Saturday. Expect a round of hotter, drier weather to follow toward the middle of next week!
