We've continued to be gray, cloudy and cold across the state today. The cloud line is beginning to clear to our northeast especially in Ohio and the clearing is coming for us too...just time time to see temperatures crash into the low 20s overnight. With the thick cloud blanket today, high temperatures have only made it into the low 30s, but hope for more sun and warmer air is coming for tomorrow. We will stay under a pretty calm and quiet weather pattern too at least for the next day or so. Sunday will be fully dry, but another quick-moving low pressure will slide to our south, much like the past one, and bring us a chance to pick up either some rain showers or snow showers depending on how far north the low decides to come. This could mean some snow showers for south central and southeastern KY again through the day Monday and possibly a few slick spots on roads as well. At this point any accumulation looks to be near the KY/TN line again. After that system, we will remain dry again until late week. The temperature trend will also remain steady with the low 40s most of the upcoming week. Hints at an Arctic blast is spotted late in the 8 day forecast...next weekend.
