Winter weather returns midweek! We'll see a wave of rain to snow to much colder air all rolling in over the next couple of days. Expect mostly cloudy skies with highs in the upper 30s to low 40s Wednesday. A late afternoon round of moisture will start out as rain and a rain/snow mix but gradually change over to light accumulating snow in the evening as the temperature drops down to and below freezing. Initial accumulation on grass and elevated surfaces will lead to potential slick spots on the roads overnight with lows around 20°. We'll see 1" to 2" of snow with isolated higher amounts. 2" to 4" at higher elevations of our far southeast mountain counties. A winter weather advisory is in effect through Thursday morning.
