We're staying hot and humid early in the week but there is change on the way. Expect highs in the upper 80s to around 90° and the heat index well into the 90s Monday. A cold front will slowly settle southeast sparking a few late day and overnight showers and t-showers. That boundary will stall close to the Tennessee border Tuesday and set the stage for an active pattern the rest of the week with ripples of low pressure setting off multiple rounds of showers and storms. This wetter pattern will help areas slipping into summer drought, with the heaviest rain setting up across southern counties. It will also cool it down with highs slipping to the low to mid 80s later this week.
