We have one more day with scattered showers and t-showers Wednesday before the heat gradually clamps down this weekend. Watch for slow moving, strong storms that could produce locally heavy rain and gusty wind. A stout heat ridge takes over just in time for Independence Day and this persistent, unsettled pattern finally simmers down. A hot and steamy run of days is inbound with highs edging into the low 90s and the heat index well into the 90s Saturday and Sunday.
