This weekend has been straight out of July. It will remain very warm and humid, but we’ll shave a few degrees of the high tomorrow. We’ll climb into the mid 80s due to more clouds and chances for some late-day showers and thunderstorms. A strong storm or two will be possible Sunday afternoon and evening as a cold front nudges into the Commonwealth.

Better chances for stronger thunderstorms will be across Indiana and western Kentucky. There have been consistent trends that the line of storms will weaken as it marches eastward. The extent and potential for stronger storms will depend on how much destabilization occurs in the atmosphere early in the day. Damaging winds are the main threat, but it will also be windy outside of any storms that develop. Scattered showers and weaker storms will persist through the night. Behind the storms drier and slightly cooler air will arrive. We’ll see highs drop back close to 80 degrees to start the work week.
