Here we go again. After a brief day off Thursday showers are back on the scene Friday but most numerous down south. We’ll end up mostly cloudy and cool with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s. The heaviest rain fires up Friday night and comes in waves through Saturday before finally winding down Sunday morning. A flash flood watch is in effect in that time frame. Expect weekend rainfall in the 1″ to 3″ range, getting heavier as you head south. The combination of saturated ground and torrential rain will quickly lead to a hazardous flash flood threat.

We’re still monitoring the threat for severe storms Saturday night but SPC has significantly backed off the severe storm outlook in the Commonwealth. We’ll see strong/gusty t-storms with a few borderline severe possible, especially over western counties.
