The severe threat index is elevated to 1 Tuesday, a slight risk due to the ongoing threat of torrential rain and flash flooding as well as the potential for a few strong to severe (wind & hail) pm storms.

Rainfall since last Friday tops out in the 3″ to 6″+ range in the Bluegrass and southern counties- the ground is saturated. Any additional heavy rain will lead to rapid and hazardous flash flooding. A flash flood watch remains in effect through Wednesday afternoon. The good news, a cold front sweeps east midweek & the rain ends late Wednesday. We’re trending quiet & dry later this week.
