Well hello spring! Gusty winds today helped drive temperatures well into the 70s. The hits will just keep on coming as we wrap up another work week. Skies will remain mostly clear overnight with temperatures only dropping into the 50s. Tomorrow may be Friday the 13th, but our luck won’t run out in the weather department. We are tracking another spectacular spring day with highs near 80° and mostly sunny skies. The wind will still be a nuisance. Gusts tomorrow may top 30 mph.

A strong cold front will bring chances for heavy rain and thunderstorms just in time for the weekend. This front will march across the nation’s mid-section tomorrow. Showers and storms will be likely late Saturday through Sunday. The severe threat will be farther to our south on Saturday, but still some gusty storms may get going. Heavy rain will also be a concern. Showers will taper off throughout the day on Monday. It may be cold enough at wake-up for a little snow to mix in. A cool down will be the other part of the equation.?? Sunday’s high will only reach the upper 50s. The temperature trend will continue to dance around 60 degrees next week.
