The National Hurricane Center is watching a cluster of thunderstorms sitting in the Eastern Caribbean Sea. As of now it is only a tropical wave and has very little chance for development.
A combination of a poor atmospheric environment, and the little islands the storm will pass over will lead to very little development in the next few days. The wave will continue to work northwest and reach the Northern Bahamas in 5 days. As it does, it will encounter a cold front (passing us tomorrow) when it works into the Western Atlantic. This meeting will continue to shear the “could-be” storm apart and further development is not likely.
The National Hurricane Center has only given the wave a 10% chance of tropical development in the next 5 days.
