Kentucky Opens SEC Play At No. 11 LSU

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky baseball team begins Southeastern Conference play this weekend with a trip to Alex Box Stadium, where the Cats will meet the 11th-ranked LSU Tigers. And while facing the Tigers in Baton Rouge is always a tough task, the Cats hope that an early-season trip to Texas Tech might help them prepare for what they will see this weekend.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – T.J. Collett homered, tripled and drove in four runs and Dalton Reed added another four RBI as Kentucky put up its highest scoring game of the season in defeating Western Kentucky 15-0 at Kentucky Proud Park. The Wildcats finished the first homestand in their new park with a 10-1 record.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 15 Kentucky softball team exploded for 13 runs on 12 hits in a run-rule win over Syracuse on Wednesday afternoon at John Cropp Stadium in Lexington. The Wildcats won their season-high eighth game in a row, beating the Orange, 13-0.

Schaper’s Grand Slam, Spangler’s Gem Beats Miami in Home Opener

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Jenny Schaper hit two home runs, including a grand slam and freshman pitcher Tatum Spangler pitched her first-career complete game in the circle as the No. 15 Kentucky softball team won its seventh-straight game 9-1 in five innings over the Miami RedHawks.

Cardiac Cats Rally For Eighth Comeback Win of Season

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Ryan Shinn delivered a game-winning hit for the second time in three days and the Kentucky baseball team rallied for 6-4 victory over SIU-Edwardsville with a four-run eighth inning at Kentucky Proud Park. It was the Wildcats’ eighth come-from-behind win in 12 total victories this season.

Washington Tabbed All-America Third Team by Sporting News

After helping lead the Kentucky men’s basketball team to a No. 2 seed in the Southeastern Conference Tournament and a 26-win regular season, sophomore forward PJ Washington opened awards season on Monday with selection to the Sporting News All-America Third Team.
