LEX 18 was in a Fayette County courtroom Thursday afternoon during the arraignment of 29-year-old Jaime Caldwell, who is facing several charges in connection with a hit-and-run crash that left one person critically injured.
According to a LEX 18 crew, Caldwell entered a not guilty plea, and her bond was set at $25,000. Her next court date is April 29.

LEX 18 obtained an arrest citation for 29-year-old Jaime Caldwell, who was arrested in connection with the Georgetown Road hit-and-run on Wednesday.
The citation notes that Caldwell was arrested at "her workplace at Glendover Elementary School," where officers reportedly observed damage to her vehicle and "smelled alcohol coming from her."
According to the citation, the officer noticed "her eyes were bloodshot and watery."
Caldwell told police, according to the citation, that when she was driving, "she heard a thud but did not realize she hit a person."
The citation states that her breath test result came back at .278. After she was read her Miranda Warning, the citation notes that she "admitted to drinking Bacardi Rum last night" and that "she took her anxiety, depression, and blood pressure medications" this morning.

Fayette County Public Schools is aware of the situation involving Jaime Caldwell. Due to the ongoing investigation and the confidential nature of personnel matters, we are limited in what we can share at this time. However, we can confirm that the employee has been placed on administrative leave. As always, the safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority.

The Lexington Police Department reports that one person has been arrested in connection with the hit-and-run that left a pedestrian injured Wednesday morning on Georgetown Road.
According to police, 29-year-old Jaime Caldwell was arrested after they located the vehicle utilizing the department's Real-Time Intelligence Center.
Police say that Caldwell is charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol- first offense (aggravated), and leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid/assist with death or serious physical injury. She is booked in the Fayette County Detention Center.
Police say that the Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing the investigation, and additional charges are possible.

The Lexington Police Department reports that a pedestrian was injured after being hit by a vehicle Wednesday morning on Georgetown Road.
According to police, they responded to the scene around 6:50 a.m. and learned that the alleged vehicle involved had fled the scene.
Police say that the pedestrian was taken to a local hospital with reported life-threatening injuries.
According to police, they have located the vehicle that allegedly fled the scene, and the crash is under investigation.
Police say that Georgetown Road is shut down at Nandino Boulevard and ask that drivers find alternate routes and use caution in the area.

Lexwrecks is reporting that the inbound lanes of Georgetown Road at Mercer Road are blocked on Wednesday morning due to a collision reportedly involving a pedestrian.
According to lexwrecks, all inbound traffic on Georgetown Road is being diverted to Nandino Boulevard.
