The Georgetown Police Department released additional information regarding the wreck in Georgetown on Tuesday that killed one person.
The department detailed that on Tuesday, the Scott County Sheriff's Department and Georgetown police were called to the area near Long Lick Pike and Sebree Road on a single-vehicle collision.
When police arrived, the department reported that the 30-year-old driver, identified by police as Matthew Weatherly, was the only occupant of the vehicle.
Weatherly was taken to an area hospital where he died from his injuries, according to the department.
The department noted that an initial investigation from the Georgetown-Scott County Traffic Collision Reconstruction Unit found that "speed and wet roadway conditions" were a contributing factor in the crash.

The Scott County Coroner has confirmed that one man has died as a result of the wreck.

Authorities reported to LEX 18 that one person has suffered life-threatening injuries after a vehicle flipped over in Georgetown on Tuesday afternoon.
According to officials, the Georgetown PD Collision Reconstruction is responding to the scene of the crash near Long Lick and Sebree Road.
