Today was a nice breather from the record-setting heat of the last several days. It will turn cooler, more seasonal tonight with lows in the 50s. Patchy river valley fog possible by morning. We'll call it "pleasantly hot" tomorrow. The heat returns, but the muggies will be kept at bay. Plenty of sunshine will be around too. Hope you don't mind the mid-July feel, because this heat is going anywhere anytime soon. The upcoming stretch won't be recording-setting, but it will remain unseasonably hot for mid-September. Our heat wave will continue into a second week with highs near 90° through the final days of summer. We will also remain very dry. Showers and thunderstorms will have a hard time getting going with high pressure dominating the region.
