Hazy Sky? Irritated Eyes? Here’s Why

Posted
and last updated

You may notice a not-so-pleasant haze in the sky today. Despite 90% of the state being cloud-free, the skies are not clear. This is due to smoke particles moving in. The smoke has been traveling from large wildfires in Alberta, Canada. These fires are over 2,000 miles away, yet the smoke caused by them has traveled to Kentucky and other states along the east and west coasts.

Air quality is not expected to be dangerous. However, some may have irritated eyes from the smoke particles. If you notice irritation after spending long periods of time outside, head indoors for a bit.
