and last updated

It’s finally here! The start of the 2019 Lexington Legends season begins this Thursday and the weather seems as if it will line up perfectly. Here is the breakdown for your Opening weekend forecast.

*Game times and information below may not be current, check the Lexington Legends website for more information: https://www.milb.com/lexington

Thursday:
Vs. Delmarva Shorebirds
7:05 PM EDT
Promotion: Opening Day!
For the kickoff of the season, we’re expecting a mostly nice one. Temperatures will be running into the upper 60s as the game gets underway. The only drawback will be a few pesky showers likely getting going around the last few innings, but depending on where they line up it could potentially hold off. Either way, a rain jacket wouldn’t be a bad idea.

Friday:
Vs. Delmarva Shorebirds
7:05 PM EDT
Promotion: Diamond Dig For Your Ring
Friday will be the day with the best chance for active weather. A strong frontal system will be enough to bring rain showers and thunderstorms. The silver lining in the pattern puts the heaviest and strongest weather out of Central Kentucky by the late afternoon, meaning rain should be lighter or more scattered by first pitch. Still, don’t be surprised if a rain or lightning delay gets enacted. If the bulk of the system exits early, the game could go off without a hitch. Let’s hope for the best!

Saturday:
Vs. Delmarva Shorebirds
6:35 PM EDT
Promotion: 2018 SAL Championship Poster Giveaway!
The weekend games are looking prime for baseball fans. Rain exits early in the day on Saturday meaning dry conditions (and field) for first pitch. Temperatures will warm into the 70s for the beginning of the game and skies will have a mix of sun and clouds. Sunscreen may not be a bad idea during this one.

Sunday:
Vs. Delmarva Shorebirds
2:05 PM EDT
Promotion: Kids get in FREE!
It’s pretty much “rinse and repeat” for the day game on Sunday. Temperatures will still be warming through the 60s during the first few innings and resting in the 70s as the game is wrapping up. There is a chance for late day rain showers, but as long as we don’t move into extra innings, the chance remains low.

Overall, it’s a great-looking opening series for the Legends!
