(LEX 18)– On “State of the Commonwealth” this week LEX 18 takes a look at each of the candidates before Tuesday’s primary election.

Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin is running for re-election. He stood on the steps of the Capitol four years ago and told Kentucky that changes were coming.

“We talked about changing our retirement plans – the pension plans themselves – to ensure that we save them so that we honor the commitment to our retirees and our current employees and we are going to do that,” he said.

Four years later, pension reform has yet to happen. Bevin has tried with several different pension bills, but after mass protests and court battles, efforts have failed.

The governor says if he wins another term, he can get the job done.

Even with support from big names like Vice President Mike Pence, some polls in Washington D.C. say that Bevin is the most unpopular governor in America.
