(LEX 18)– On “State of the Commonwealth” this week LEX 18 takes a look at each of the candidates before Tuesday’s primary election.

Current Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear is running for governor, so the position is up for grabs.

On the Republican side, Wil Schroeder and Daniel Cameron are running to replace Beshear as Attorney General. Cameron was an attorney for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell from 2015-2017 and is a former University of Louisville football player.

Schroeder is a former prosecutor and current state senator from Campbell County.

The winner will meet the only Democrat running for the position, former House Speaker Greg Stumbo.

Stumbo is a former Attorney General who served in that role during the administration of Kentucky Republican Governor Ernie Fletcher.
