LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky women’s basketball forward Dorie Harrison will not return to the Kentucky program for the 2019-20 academic year, UK head coach Matthew Mitchell announced Tuesday. Harrison, who missed last season due to personal health reasons, has signed to play with Gulf Coast State Junior College this upcoming season.

“Dorie is an important member of our Kentucky family and we all fully support her and the steps she is taking,” said Mitchell, who will begin his 13th season as the head coach of the Wildcats later this year.

Harrison played in 32 games in 2017-18 as a freshman with eight starts, averaging 6.7 points per game and 3.8 rebounds per game. The native of Nashville was named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week after scoring 15 points with five rebounds vs. Alabama and 16 points with four rebounds at Arkansas.
