LOUISVILLE, Ky- Kentucky had owned Louisville under Coach John Calipari, winning nine of the 11 match-ups since he took over. Add another win to his record as he improved to 10-2 with a 71-58 win over Louisville.
The match-up was the first between Calipari and Chris Mack. It was also the series debut for Tyler Herro, and he put on a shooting clinic.
Herro hit threes early and often, including a couple during a 14-2 first half run that opened up a double digit lead for Kentucky, one that would remain comfortable throughout the remainder of the game.
Herro led the Cats with 24 points on a crisp 10-12 shooting, including 4-6 from deep. Keldon Johnson chipped in 15 and Ashton Hagans had 11 points.
With the win Kentucky enters conference play at 10-2.
