Three UK Assistant Basketball Coaches Get Contract Extensions

Three of John Calipari’s assistant coaches at Kentucky have received contract extensions.

According to the open records of coaching contracts, Wildcats Associate Head Coach, Kenny Payne, had his contract extended through June of 2021. He agreed to the new $900,000 a year contract in June but signed the deal on August 1st. Then, the Office of the President just signed off on it September 4th.

UK Assistant Coach, Joel Justus, also agreed on a new one year deal in June that will carry him through to June of 2019. That contract was also just signed off by the Office of the President on September 4th. It will pay Justus $230,000.

UK Assistant Coach, Tony Barbee, also received a similar one year extension that will also end in June of 2019 and pay him $440,000.

The raises are $100,00 for Payne, $90,000 for Justus and $40,000 for Barbee.
