LEXINGTON, Ky. — Transylvania University and the Lexington Legends announced Tuesday that the Pioneers will play their home baseball games in Whitaker Bank Ballpark.

The Pioneers have played some games there before but starting this upcoming season they'll play all games there. For head coach, Zack Getsee, is excited for the program. "I want them to feel like this is a place they will be able to call home for four years," said Getsee. "So, moving here. The ability to go in the locker room, it gives us the ability to hang out, it gives us the ability to spend more time around each other, it gives our guys more incentive to work hard on a daily basis."

For the Legends, it's a chance to create a special partnership as well. “This new, expanded partnership is something we have coveted for years and are now thrilled it has come to fruition," said Legends President and Chief Executive Officer Andy Shea. "Our values to the community and the baseball industry, coupled with the close geographic proximity make this partnership a no-brainer."
