Kentucky Quarterback, Sawyer Smith, is expected to start Saturday when the Wildcats head to South Carolina to face the Gamecocks.
"It's fine," said Smith about his injured shoulder. "I got all of the reps this week. It's a little sore but it's fine."
Smith went back with the trainers to the locker room after the team came out for the second half against Mississippi State.
Some reports were saying Henry Clay alum, Walker Wood, would be starting the second half.
Smith would head back on to the field once the second half began before finishing the game.
In the 28-13 loss to Mississippi State, Smith was 15-41 for 232 yards and threw an interception. It was his second career start for Kentucky.
"I need to check it down a little more, not force balls down the field and take what the defense gives you," said Smith after looking back on the film from the Mississippi St. game. "Don't be so aggressive throwing the deep balls. Other than that, clean up some other stuff and go in to South Carolina ready to play."
Kentucky and South Carolina kickoff at 7:30 p.m. in Columbia. The Wildcats have won the last five meetings between the two teams.
