LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Local high school student athletes signed their Letters of Intent to play college football on Wednesday.

LEX 18 made stops at Henry Clay, Lafayette, Lexington Christian, Frederick Douglass and Woodford Co.

"As soon as I went on the visit, all of the coaches and players surrounded me with love and made me feel so welcome. I just love it up there," said Lafayette senior and Bowling Green commit Jaylen Lawson.

"It feels great to be able to pick where I'm going to college and have more than one choice but ultimately Georgetown was the best place," said Douglass senior and Georgetown College commit Josh McClurg. "Coach Cronin gave me a great opportunity there to play football for four years, just super excited to go there and play for coach Cronin."

"I think these guys getting a chance to learn the life lessons at the next level is what I'm most excited to see," said Woodford Co. football coach Dennis Johnson. "We're just there to support them and hope they represent Woodford County."
