MOREHEAD, Ky. — Featuring six home games for the second consecutive season, Morehead State’s football schedule for 2019 has been announced.

The schedule features two non-conference home contests, including a Thursday night opener, and four Pioneer League home games. Ticket information as well as promotions will be finalized later and available on MSUEagles.com. Morehead State has led the PFL in attendance five consecutive seasons.

The slate kicks off on Thursday, Aug. 29 when the Eagles host in-state foe Union. The Bulldogs, from Barbourville and members of the NAIA Mid-South Conference, were 2-8 in 2018.

MSU’s first road contest is a trip to Illinois State on Sept. 7. The Missouri Valley Football Conference Redbirds finished 6-5 in 2018. It will mark the Eagles’ first trip to play in Normal, Ill., since 2011.

MSU returns home on Sept. 14 to host Kentucky Christian for the annual Family Weekend game. The Knights were 2-9 last year.

Morehead State then travels to former Ohio Valley Conference rival Murray State on Sept. 21. The Racers and Eagles first played all the way back in 1936 but have not met on the gridiron since 1995. The Racers finished 5-6 in 2018.

Following a bye week on Sept. 28, PFL play begins on Oct. 5 with Davidson visiting Jayne Stadium. The Eagles will also host Butler (Oct. 19), Dayton (Nov. 2) and Stetson (Nov. 23) in conference play. Homecoming is set for Oct. 19.

Road PFL games include Jacksonville (Oct. 12), Drake (Oct. 26), Valparaiso (Nov. 9) and San Diego (Nov. 16).
