The game will air on ESPN+ and the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety Eagle Sports Network on WIVY-96.3 FM

The Eagles (5-12/1-3 OVC) picked up their first OVC win, a 74-61 triumph at Tennessee State Saturday. SEMO (6-11/1-3 OVC) has an identical OVC mark. Prior to last season, the Redhawks had only defeated the Eagles here in Morehead one time since 2007-08.

It will be academic recognition night with MSU honoring all members of the 2017-18 OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll and the 2018 Pioneer Football League Honor Roll. It’s also Greek Night.

GAME NOTES

THE SERIES WITH THE REDHAWKS

Morehead State has enjoyed tremendous success recently against Southeast Missouri and leads the overall series 29-19. Prior to dropping both games last season, the Eagles had won 14 of the last 16 matchups in the last 10 seasons (since 2007-08).

DEFENSE, DEFENSE, DEFENSE

The Eagles limited Tennessee State to only 19 first-half points last Saturday, the lowest point total in a half allowed since Kentucky Christian only managed 16 in the opening game of the 2016-17 season. MSU also held TSU to just 4-of-22 shooting from beyond the arc. That was the best three-point defense in a game this season.

TRENDS AND TIDBITS

Lamontray Harris has seven double-doubles, which ranks second in the league only behind Murray’s Ja Morant … A.J. Hicks ranks third in the OVC in assist per outing, dishing out 5.1 (88 total assists) … Hicks has had at least three assists in all 17 games … De’Von Cooper has averaged 9.5 points per game in the first four OVC contests after averaging 7.3 in non-conference games … Jordan Walker’s true shooting percentage (field goals, three-pointers and free throws) is a team-best .566 … A.J. Hicks has assisted on 32 percent of MSU’s total field goals this season.

HOME SWEET HOME

The Eagles own three of their five wins at home this season and have averaged 81 points at Johnson Arena.

3-POINT STREAK LIVES ON

Morehead State has hit at least one three-pointer in 389 consecutive games, dating back to 2007 when the Eagles were held without a made one from beyond the arc against Jacksonville State.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE TOIL AND TROUBLE

Lamontray Harris collected his seventh double-double of the season at Tennessee State and now has 15 of the stat variety in his four-year career.

THE MAN WITH THE WINDEX

Lamontray Harris has been cleaning up the glass in top form in 2018-19, ranking second among the league players with 8.6 rebounds per game. Harris has 526 career rebounds.

1K ON THE HORIZON

Lamontray Harris has a legitimate chance to reach 1,000 career points if he can keep up his average this season. He has piled up 915 career points. With a minimum of 14 games remaining (more if the Eagles play in the OVC Tournament and beyond), he would only need to average 6.0 points to reach that milestone. Harris would be the 33rd member of the 1,000 career point club in program history.

COUNT ON HIM

A.J. Hicks has dished out at least one assist in all 46 games of his two-year career. This season he ranks third in the OVC with 88 total helpers and has nine games with at least five assists.

COOPER IS SUPER

Sophomore guard De’Von Cooper drained four of five three-pointers for 12 points in the victory at Tennessee State and is hitting 37 percent from three-point range this season.

AIR JORDAN

Jordan Walker is one of only a handful of OVC players to produce at least six games scoring 20 or more points. He is still also only one of six OVC players to average more than 15 points per game as well.
