Louisville, Ky. – September 25, 2018 – NBA2LOU will host a grassroots rally and reception 6:30-9 p.m. on Wednesday at the Falls City Beer Taproom located at 901 East Liberty Street in NuLu.

NBA2LOU President Dan Issel will provide an update on the organization’s activities, after which fans and supporters can meet Issel and the investors behind the initiative to make Louisville and the Commonwealth of Kentucky “NBA ready” to attract a franchise should the league decide to expand.

The event is free and open to the public. There will be Falls City beer specials and Bearno’s pizza for purchase as well as NBA2LOU and Kentucky Colonels merchandise for sale.

As a member of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, Issel is an annual guest at the induction ceremony that welcomes the new hall of fame class. He attended the festivities last week in Springfield, Mass., where he had the opportunity to update those in attendance about NBA2LOU.

“The reaction is very positive in the basketball world regarding Louisville’s chances to land an NBA franchise if and when the league decides to expand,” Issel said. “People recognize the affinity fans in Kentucky have for basketball and the tremendous asset that Louisville has with the KFC Yum! Center.

“Also, it’s gratifying to see the local support at the grassroots level and with local elected officials.”

To date, 10 municipalities have passed resolutions in support of the NBA2LOU initiative with more to follow.
