LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Henry Clay basketball standout and Northern Kentucky commit Marques Warrick was named the Region 11 Boys Basketball Player of the Year by the Lexington Lions Club on Friday.

"It means a lot," Warrick said on winning the award. "I worked really hard for this opportunity and showed this past season and my whole high school career I've been ready for this moment."

Warrick finished his senior season with 23.2 PPG with the Blue Devils, which ranked 17th in the state of Kentucky.

He finished his high school career as the all-time leading scorer in Henry Clay history.

Warrick is also a finalist for Kentucky's Mr. Basketball, which will be announced virtually on June 28.
