LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Chasity Patterson had a career night in Kentucky's 86-60 season opening win Wednesday over Murray St., finishing with 30 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 8 steals.

Patterson was 8-13 from the field and made 12-13 free throws.

Blair Greene (13 points), and freshman Tresure Hunt (12 points) also scored in double-digits.

Kentucky announced that Tatyanna Wyatt and Rhyne Howard were suspended about an hour prior until tip-off.

Wyatt has been suspended three games for violation of team rules, while Howard has been suspended two games for 'not upholding the standards of the program.'

Kentucky forced 32 Murray St. turnovers, which included 19 steals. Those turnovers led to 40 points for the Wildcats, who also shot 40% from the field.

The team had 35 points off the bench and 28 points in the paint.

This was the first win for interim head coach Kyra Elzy, who replaced Matthew Mitchell earlier this month after he stepped down to focus on his health.

Kentucky returns to Memorial Coliseum Sunday for a 4 p.m. tip-off with Belmont.
