Lexington (LEX 18)– Male pitcher Kelsie Houchens tossed a perfect game, ending Boyle County’s season in the KHSAA State Quarterfinals 4-0.

It was a pitchers duel for the first half of the game, where Boyle Co.’s Katy Grace Chadwell and Male’s Kelsie Houchen each had a perfect game after four innings.

But The Lady Bulldogs would break through in the 5th inning, getting back-to-back hits to start the inning before Chadwell gave up a 3-run homerun to Jaelyn Sanders.

Male would add an insurance run in the 6th inning and Houchen would head back to the circle to close it out in the 7th.

Chadwell, the only senior on Boyle Co.’s roster, would be the final out of the game as she grounded it back to Houchens, who would go on to complete the perfect game.

Male will advance to face Clay Co. in the State Semifinals on Saturday at noon. The KHSAA State Championship game has been moved to Saturday night at 6 pm due to possible weather conditions.
