LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky Football team wrapped up spring practice with the annual Blue-White game.
The Blue would strike first as Terry Wilson hit a wide open Lynn Bowden for a 49-yard touchdown. 7-0 Blue.
After a stop, A.J. Rose took off for a 49 yard gain after the handoff. A few plays later he scored from a yard out to make it 14-0 Blue.
The Blue team would then force a fumble. Jamin Davis forced a fumble that was recovered by Jamar “Boogie” Watson. Right before the end of the first quarter that led to a Wilson pass to Justin Rigg for a 24-yard touchdown. The Blue was up 21-0.
After Chance Poore added a 52-yard field goal, Kavosiey Smoke, showed his speed at the running back position going 87 yards for a touchdown. The Blue led 31-0.
The White team finally got it going as Gunner Hoak engineered a scoring drive that was capped off by the Chris Rodriguez two-yard run. 31-7 Blue.
The Blue would respond with another scoring drive that ended with A.J. Rose getting in from a yard out. The Blue would lead 38-7 at the half.
The White would strike first in the second half as Matt Ruffalo kicked a 36 yard field goal. The White would trail 38-10.
The Blue team came back with a long drive that would finish when Rose scored his third touchdown of the game. The Blue would extend that lead back to 45-10. And they weren’t finished as Gunnar Hoak would hit Bryce Oliver on an eight yard touchdown to make it 52-10 Blue.
Coach Stoops said this one would be slanted more towards the offense because the defense was playing pretty simple schemes. It was as the Blue would hold on to win 64-10.
