Sierra Newton joined the LEX 18 team as a Digital Content Producer in May 2021, transitioned to BBN Tonight as an Associate Producer in August of 2022, and now serves as a Sports Multimedia Journalist for LEX 18's 5:00 p.m. broadcast. Sierra is a Bluegrass native, born and raised in Frankfort. She graduated from Northern Kentucky University in 2020, where she double-majored in journalism and electronic media & broadcasting.
During her time at NKU, Sierra served as the sports editor of The Northerner, NKU's student-led newspaper - for two years. During her senior year, Sierra wrote for the Cincinnati Enquirer as a high school sports score taker.
Sierra is no stranger to the LEX 18 newsroom; she interned in the news department in 2019! Sierra enjoys taking care of her fur baby, Ladybug, in her free time and watching sporting events.
