LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - 110 pigs were killed after a semi crash in downtown Louisville Wednesday morning.
According to NBC affiliate WAVE 3, a semi carrying the pigs overturned at the I-64-71 split around 7:15 a.m. Several pigs escaped the truck and ran around on the roadway as police attempt to corral them.
Traffic cameras showed the surviving pigs on the side of the interstate. Unfortunately, 110 of the animals did not survive. The driver of the semi was uninjured.
The roadway was shut down for several hours following the crash.
