SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Scott County boy has made it to the finale of a new Nickelodeon TV Show called "Top Elf."
12-year-old Cameron Fulton was cast in the show where he's competing against seven other kids.
He said the show is about building and making art, and he's had the chance to show off his woodworking skills.
Cameron told LEX 18 that he was discovered by a casting agency, which came across his Instagram profile.
"A lot of people are like 'I want to be a surgeon' because they make a lot of money. I'm like, 'I want to be a woodworker' because it's fun," said Cameron.
During the show he's had to build things like a giant Christmas card and a gingerbread house. On the finale airing on Saturday night, he has to build Santa's sleigh.
"The good thing is these are prototypes, they don't actually have to fly. They're just kind of like design models of what we would design if we were going to change Santa's sleigh," said Cameron.
Cameron's parents said he's been recognized around town.
"When we went to the Scott County basketball game last week, he was recognized a lot and that was a weird experience for us. They're like 'You're the Nickelodeon kid!' It was really neat," said Cameron's Mom Kelly Fulton.
The competition is down to the final three kids, one of them being Cameron, and on Saturday a winner will be crowned.
The winner of the show gets to donate $25,000 to the charity of their choice.
