ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — An inmate who police say escaped the Rockcastle County Detention Center was recaptured Monday morning near Mount Vernon.
Rockcastle County Detention Center officials say John McClure escaped around 5 p.m. on Sunday. Police said he was spotted near Mount Vernon on Monday and later recaptured.
McClure was being held on charges including 3rd degree burglary, persistent felony offender and criminal mischief.
Officials didn't specify how he was able to escape the jail.
