BOONE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — One man has died and one has been arrested in a fatal crash in Boone County.
Boone County deputies were dispatched to Bluestem Drive in Burlington, Kentucky for a reported accident.
When deputies arrived, they found a deceased male in a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu. The vehicle was traveling south towards Camp Ernest Road with four occupants in the vehicle.
The deceased male has been identified as Lamail Borders, 19, of Hebron.
The vehicle then left the right side of the road and went through two front yards, hit a tree and went through a wood line that damaged a fence. The vehicle was found in a backyard on Bluestem Drive.
Two passengers were transported to Cincinnati Children's Hospital. One passenger had minor injuries and another passenger had serious, but non-life threatening, inuries.
The two passengers have been identified as Jeremiah Thomas, 15 of Hebron and Souleymane Gueye, 15, of Hebron.
Thomas had been treated for minor injuries and has been released from the hospital.
Gueye has been hospitalized for internal injuries that are more serious.
Upon investigation, deputies found that the vehicle was traveling 20 mph over the speed limit.
The driver, Anthony W. Yeager, 22, of Hebron was arrested and charged with the following:
- Manslaughter in the second degree
- Assault in the fourth degree
- Criminal mischief in the first degree
- Buying and possessing drug paraphernalia
- Operating a vehicle on a suspended or revoked license
Yeager has been housed at the Boone County Detention Center.
Camp Ernest Road was shut down for around six hours but reopened at 9 a.m.
