WILMORE, Ky. (LEX 18) — Asbury University's hour-long chapel service on February 8 has turned into a continuous "revival" that has lasted over a week.
The days-long service has caught people's attention from all over the nation, bringing in thousands of visitors to the university.
Asbury President Dr. Kevin J. Brown released the following statement on Saturday evening regarding the schedule going into the third week of revival:
“We are experiencing an historic moment at Asbury University. Since our regularly scheduled chapel service on February 8, there have been countless expressions and demonstrations of radical humility, compassion, confession, consecration, and surrender unto God.
We are witnessing what scripture describes as the Fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
As we enter the third week of this renewal movement, our desire is to be faithful to our mission as a student-centric Christian University. Further, we believe that the continued flourishing of such a movement invites us to commission our Asbury community, visiting students, and other campus guests from across the world to neighbor-serving, God-honoring work.
After much prayer and discussion with campus leadership, we have established a schedule for the upcoming week that is available on the university website.”
The number of visitors to the area has also brought up some safety concerns that the Wilmore Police Department wants to relay to the community and attendees.

On Sunday evening, Asbury University announced they will live stream some events due to the overwhelming number of visitors and exceeding their capacity.

Sunday (Feb. 19)
- 6:30–10 p.m.
Monday (Feb. 20)
- 1–4 p.m. (final public worship service on Asbury University’s campus)
- 7:30–10 p.m. (high school through college age only)
Tuesday (Feb. 21)
- 7:30–10 p.m. (high school through college age only)
Wednesday (Feb. 22)
- 7:30–10 p.m. (high school through college age only)
Thursday (Feb. 23), National Collegiate Day of Prayer
- 8–10 p.m. (high school through college age only)
The concluding public worship service on the campus of Asbury University will be held Monday, February 20, at 2 p.m.
Beginning Tuesday, February 21, services available to the public will be held at another to-be-determined location in the central Kentucky area. Asbury will host services each night for college-age and high school students (25 and under) through Thursday, February 23, at 7:30 p.m.
