2 taken to hospital with minor injuries after collision on Leestown Road, Alexandria Drive

UPDATE: August 26 at 8:00 a.m.
The Lexington Police Department reports that two people were taken to the hospital after a collision that happened on Monday just before 7:00 a.m. on Leestown Road at Alexandria Drive.

According to police, when they arrived on the scene, they discovered that one vehicle traveling outbound on Leestown Road attempted to turn left onto Alexandria Drive when it was struck by a vehicle traveling inbound on Leestown Road.

Police say the driver and passenger of one of the vehicles were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The roadway has since reopened as of 8:00 a.m.
